Another terrific week of preseason practice! Our athletes are continuing to get into shape, and we should be ready for our preseason meets soon. Now that we have a few weeks of training behind us, we can begin focusing more attention on field events, block starts, hurdles, and relay exchanges as we prepare for our first taste of competition this Friday and Saturday at the Time Trials.

I understand that many athletes and parents may feel confused or unsure about the upcoming season. Please be patient — everything will fall into place for both the athletes and the coaches. Our coaches are learning more about each athlete at every practice, and after the Time Trials, we will be better able to organize our teams.

Please remember: in order to receive a uniform and compete in the Time Trials, all athletes must be cleared with completed paperwork by this week. Failure to do so may result in being dropped from athletics.

Athletes should also focus on proper nutrition and adequate sleep, as training intensity will continue to increase in the coming weeks.

We have a very busy week ahead with the Time Trials on Friday and Saturday!

Let’s have a great week!
