This past week the Timberwolves had a terrific days against University and at the San Clemente Invite. Our boys and girls teams started off the PCL in fine fashion. All levels of girls and boys were victorious against University. A perfect 6-0 start for FS-JV-V teams!!! For the boys Quinton Lynch threw over 127ft in the discus and 40ft in the shot put, Jack Schultz won the LJ & TJ and also hit over 41ft in the triple jump. Fast improving 10th grader Lucia James had a big PR in the 400m earning her first varsity win!! Santino Diaz Garcia is having a great senior season as he broke the school record in the 3200m with his teammate. The varsity girls had some top performances in the meet as thrower Izzy Galisteo won the shot/discus for her first varsity PCL wins. Also in the hurdles Sienna Hidalgo won the 100H with a personal best!! What a day our senior girl Katie Damko had as she earned her first varsity wins in the long and triple Jumps. Newcomer sophomore girl highlight Yuna Kim winning her first PCL FS events in the LJ and TJ. Also at the lower levels on Thursday Harris Dai won his race in the boys 800m and got the blue ribbon in the 3200m. Kylie Mafi only a 9th grader won the long 300 hurdles event.
At the San Clemente Invite Top marks came from many athletes with PRs. THIS IS WHY WE GO TO THESE LONG WEEKEND INVITES!!!!
Our athletes of the meet for this week go to a pair of pair of athletes who performed fantastic at the San Clemente Invite. On the boys side Logan Shaw had a HUGE PR in the 3200m (9:23.67) SMASHING THE SCHOOL RECORD for the senior T-Wolf! On the girls side Averie Hernandez threw down a HUGE PR in the 400m (58.73) which moves the senior to #6 all time at NHS. CHECK OUT THE BACKBACK MERCH THEY WON AT THE INVITE!!!
THIS WEEK WE HAVE A FULL WEEK OF MUCH NEEDED PRACTICE AND THEN A SATURDAY INVITE @ BEACH CITIES INVITE AT HUNTINGTON BEACH HS!!
