BETHAN KNIGHTS completed her magical senior year in track with a California CIF State Championship win in the 3200meters. Her winning time of 10:00.19 was the 4th fastest ever in CA State Meet History as she won the event from start to finish in a comfortable 100meter lead throughout. Bethan becomes Northwood's first ever State Champion in Track and Orange County's first State Champ in the 3200m.
Bethan ends the HS career with the 2014 USA #1 ranked 3200m time. She also is the only HS female 3200meter runner to run 10 minutes or faster 4 different times in a season.
She is the all-time CIF Division 3 Record Holder in both the 1600m and 3200m. In addition Bethan is the Orange County all-time leader the 3200m. A true storybook ending to a tremendous HS running career.

Congratulations to Northwood's CIF Finalists. In what is rated as the deepest regional postseason competition in the nation our athletes performed tremendous. Our girls team finished 4th in CIF Div 3 out of 187 schools. The highest placing in NHS History.
Bethan Knights put on a spectacular show of athleticism in perhaps the best overall distance performance in California history. She was a double CIF Champion in the 1600m (4:42) and in the 3200m (9:58). Both of her times shattered the Division 3 CIF Records! Her CIF performance will be in the record books for years.
Our girls 4x100 relay (Erica Lu, Philine Qian, Julia Robles and Chinyere Chambers ) ran a terrific 49:52 to finish overall 7th place.
Senior Philine Qian finished her stellar career with a 6th place finish in the 400m. She will be missed next year!
Northwood's top boy finisher Brenden Stone 5th place in the 800m with a time of 1:55.32!!!!! Yes that's correct not a typo! He demolished his personal best and set a NHS School Record! and he is ONLY an 11th grader! Glad he is a Timberwolf!
Sophomore Ashley Larson finished 7th overall in CIF 800m. She had gusty performances throughout the CIF season! She ranks currently 2nd in the all-time best for NHS!!!!!
Freshman sensation Kellie May finished 9th in CIF triple Jump. All she did was come to NHS and set the School Record in her first year of track and field. (36ft-1in) Her future is bright!
Not 1 but 2 Freshman sensational athletes at NHS Track. Sami Murphy finished 5th in the 3200m (10:50). She currently ranks 2nd all-time at NHS. She is also the 2nd overall 9th grader in the SS CIF!! Wow.
